My professional career has taken me from the hills of western Iliinois to the islands of Hawaii. Most of my professional experience was centered at the Middle school level in AISD, but now I feel blessed to be part of the Garza family. I am happy to be living in East Austin with my family.

Hi, my name is Maragwa Schroeder, wife to Christopher, and mother of our two children. I have  been in Garza since 1998.  I am the Delta Facilitator, surrounded by smart, kind, and generous people, who enables me to teach everything! Together, we make the impossible possible each day. I was born in Kenya in a small town called Eldoret. Trained in Kenya as a teacher at Mosoriot Teachers Training College, I received my B.A. in Sociology at Marymount Manhattan College and my M.S.W. from the University of Nebraska Omaha.  Also, I received my Special Education Certification from Huston-Tillotson University. I love what I do every single day! I can say for certain my job does not feel like a job -- it is what I am.
