Susan Devaney has 19 years of experience in public education.

She was an English teacher in Austin ISD for 11 years before she became a school counselor.  She grew up in Maryland and went to college in Michigan. Her favorite things include her electric bicycle and her 520 square foot house.

Ms. Reza has been a professional school counselor in AISD since 2016. She is a National Certified Counselor, demonstrating her dedication to the profession and her accomplishment in meeting National standards. In her eighth year in AISD, she was named as a finalist for counselor of the year in all of AISD!  Ms. Reza has organized numerous therapy dog visits for students/staff, and co-parents the emotional support guinea pigs housed at Garza. She enjoys her morning coffee, reality TV, and bringing new events/initiatives to Garza!

Miss Kimmel has worked at Garza since 2014; first, as a Program Manager for the Communities In Schools program, and later as a teacher in the Social Studies department.  She has been a School Counselor since 2020.  Miss Kimmel holds a Master of Science In Social Work degree from The University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work.  In her spare time, she enjoys antiquing, cake decorating, and caregiving for Garza's emotional support guinea pigs: Princess Oreo and Reese's Puff.

Ms. Sais has been a dedicated member of the Garza High School family since its inception. Her career in education began in November 1996 as a Computer Lab Assistant at Garza. While working in this role, she pursued and earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from St. Edward’s University. In 2006, she furthered her commitment to education by earning her Secondary Basic Business teacher certification from Texas State University. Shortly thereafter, she was proud to take on a new role as Garza’s first Dropout Intervention Specialist. Today, she serves as Garza’s Graduation Coach. This role continues to allow her to support and guide at-risk students on their path to academic success. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, exploring new places, and embracing all things Disney!
